Hi ya'll! Hope you've all had a great weekend. The Son and I went to see her parents, got fed, watered and spoilt and then we had The Mo's first birthday pizza party. Great food, people and dogs! We took Ted and he got to play with Jet and Presley. It was a boy dog love in, hilarious. He's now completely flaked on the sofa.
I finished my first ever quilt for Mo's birthday pressie. So happy with it. I used Heather's tutorial for binding the quilt and it totally rocks. My first ever binding, awesome corners. I made a patchwork binding. Fabrics, a mix of Amy Butler, Net of Jewels by Joelle Hoverson, this fabric ROCKS. I've been told they're not reprinting, if you haven't given it a go, get some. I struggle using solids and I just love this solid. Nice depth and beautiful finish, washes up a treat. The edging and backing polka dot is from Spotlight. Machine quilted using my Janome 6500 and the Even Foot it just chewed through the quilting and didn't skip a beat. More pics over at flickr.
I also whipped up a quick scarf for Son's mum's birthday. Used a chocolate wool mix from the stash with some Liberty Tana Lawn, Kaffe Fassett, a Japanese Import think I got it from Superbuzzy and some silk. She loved it!
Coming on Tuesday is the the 2nd 52 Week of Nose and the winner of the first week will be announced.
Until then....happy crafting!
